News9 is a 24 hour English news channel from the stable of TV9 group (Associated Broadcasting Company P. LTD).It is the only free to air (FTA) English news channel in India now. When BBC World and Headlines Today became pay channel there was a grate gap for a FTA (Free To Air) English news channel in India. This channel fills the gap now. This channel launched on 9 January 2009. It is transmitting through Insat 2E at 83 degree east.
