DISCOVERY NETWORKS ASIA–PACIFIC LAUNCHES
New Delhi, January 28, 2010: Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, a division of the number-one nonfiction media company Discovery Communications, today announced the launch of its two new channels Discovery Science and Discovery Turbo in India. The new networks will initially air on the Tata Sky DTH platform, but will soon be available on both analog and digital platforms across the country. Broadcast in English, the 24-hour channels will bring a wide range of compelling, distinct and ground-breaking content, enhancing the television viewing experience for viewers.

The launch of Discovery Science and Discovery Turbo takes Discovery’s portfolio offering in India to five channels. Discovery broadcasts three other networks in India: Discovery Channel, a factual entertainment channel; Discovery Travel & Living, India’s only international lifestyle channel and Animal Planet, the only 24-hour channel dedicated to wildlife. The three networks reach 116 million cumulative subscribers in India with programming customised in English, Hindi and Tamil.
Discovery Science will be available on Tata Sky channel no. 563 and Discovery Turbo on channel no. 221.
