806 FM Radio channels are waiting for the clearance of the IB department now in India. The decision of IB department will influence the complaint of defense department that FM signals interfere to the radio frequency of defense department’s wireless communication systems. To solve this problem IB department is ready to decrease the height of the radio transmitting tower from the current 30 meter to 25 meters. After this third development towns that have a population of more than 1 lakh in India have at least one FM station.
In another move, Government of India has planned to increase the foreign investment in FM Radio channels. The maximum percentage of foreign investment will increase to 26 percentages from the current 20 percentage. It will help the radio channels that are facing financial problem and also can attract foreign investments.
