Star Plus is a 24 hour entertainment channel in Hindi language from the stable of Star Network. It was launched on 21 February 1992. It was in the earliest channels that were transmitting for India. In the beginning it was a free to air English entertainment channel. Mega serial like Santha Barbara was transmitting through this channel. It was transmitted through the Asiasat satellite in analogue mode. In that time Star network had collaboration with “Zee TV” and later this collaboration ended. Star Plus channel began to transmit Hindi programs and later it became a full time Hindi entertainment channel.Star Plus also changed its transmission mode from analogue to digital and became a pay (Scrambled) channel.
