Amrita TV Captures Gulf Keralite Life in Middle East Panorama

Middle East Panorama, Amrita TV’s new Gulf-aligned show, is a collection of current affairs stories that offer a casement to the Arab world and gives new insights into the lives of Keralite expatriates residing in the Persian Gulf countries. The latest addition to Amrita
TV’s overseas programme line-up, the half hour weekly show will be telecast every Thursday at  10.30pm,  UAE time.(12 PM IST)

Middle East Panorama pans across the vista of Malayalee existence in the peninsula and records moments from the lives that unfold beneath the glitter of the desert paradise- of  the laborers, the semi skilled workers and blue collar employees who subsist on a mere pittance, in dismal conditions to support their families back home and return empty-handed , once their contract expires. Visiting the vegetable vendors, fish market sellers, potters etc in their workplace, it documents the difficulties and travails of eking out a living, the uncertainty that always looms over their future, their fears of being terminated abruptly.

Tucked in between these slices of authentic narratives are intriguing vignettes of amazing souls who, like fireflies light up the lives of others, ordinary laborers who set apart money from their meager incomes  to help those in need .Interesting news feature snippets that acquaint us with the developments, events and advancements of the region  also make it  to the segments of the show.

Through these images of unclothed reality, the programme sketches Gulf life as it really is, in tints of black ,white and shades of grey, to serve as eye opener to the world of the
Non- Resident Keralite.
