Star Spangled Amrita Film Awards to be Telecast on June 18th & 19th

A terrific weekend entertainment bonanza is on the cards for movie buffs when the Amrita FEFKA Film Awards, is telecast in two Parts on June 18 & 19 at 6.30 pm.

The resplendent  visual spectacle, conceived on the grandest possible scale  was staged at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in Cochin, on a day when the monsoon Gods desisted from downpours, before a massive crowd that flocked in droves to the ground.

As Amrita TV and Fefka unleashed their star power, a congregation of actors and multitude of  directors, cinematographers, editors came together on the same platform, teaming up their organizational competence, technical resourcefulness and artistic capability to roll out entertainment of an order seldom seen before in the Mollywood film award chronicles.

Steered by big league megaphone wielders of Malayalam movies, Joshi, Sibi Malayil, Lal Jose, Unnikrishnan, Lal, Major Ravi, Shafi etc the young turks and old timers of tinsel town  displayed unseen dimensions of their talent in an unending, hours long mesmerizing parade of dances, songs, skits and spoofs.

First time features in any film award nite, a live cricket match skit played out on stage with the  dupes of all prominent members of the current Indian team including Tendulkar, Sreeshant, Bhaji etc, a Ganamalika with 25 new generation singers pitching in for a collective musical salutation to hundred years of Malayalam movie music, dances giving centre stage to all the starlets of Malayalam cinema,  were just some of the high spots of the mega star show.

The function saw a constellation of mega stars like Mammootty, Kavya Madhavan, Jairam, Dileep, Jaysurya, Biju Menon, Kalabahavan Mani, with substantial representation from the fledging generation of the Malayalam film industry.

Getting a front tire view of the dazzling proceedings to become star gazers for a while, were bigwigs from the helm of the State,  the Chief Minister of Kerala Oommen Chandy, his counterpart in the Opposition the inimitable V.S Achuthanandan and the Minister for Sports and Cinema Ganesh Kumar.

All the goose bumping excitement of the Amrita Fefka Film Award Nite that made it the talk of the town, will be brought in its undiluted entirety by Amrita TV for its viewers, this weekend on Saturday & Sunday at 6.30pm.
