Osama Bin Laden Killed



03 May 2011: Osama Bin Laden, the Al Qaeda leader and the most wanted terrorist in the hit list of America has killed in a special American commando attack at Abbottabad in Pakistan on 2nd may 2011, Monday at 1am (IST). He was 54 years old. Abbottabad is a military cantonment, 100 km away from the Pakistan capital Islamabad.  Bin Laden was believed that the main individual behind the World Trade Center attack on 9th September, 2001 in New York, USA and the Pentagon attack on the same day. In this attacks over 3000 civilians were killed.
Four American helicopters fly over his residence and commandos land through the rope in his compound and attacked him. During the 40 minute military operation he was shot dead. Four other persons were also killed in this operation including a woman, two couriers. An American helicopter was also crashed in this operation and America has said that the crash is due to technical problems. Bin Laden’s dead body has recovered and buried in the sea. The body was conformed as Bin Laden’s after the DNA test.

The Pakistan Military Academy is located near Abbottabad, a historic city named after Major James Abbott, a British military officer who founded it in 1853. US officials had earlier said that they believed Bin Laden was hiding in Pakistan's tribal belt bordering Afghanistan.
